I *just* got an email from my son's high school principal and I had to share ~

Mrs. Reed: I still can't get it through their heads after *all* this time that I'm not married anymore. Sheesh.

Please allow me to take a few minutes of your time to extend congratulations, not only from myself, but the entire faculty and staff of Pleasant Ridge High School, to you on the announcement of Jeff as the recipient of the PRHS Outstanding Senior Boy of the Second Quarter for the 2009-2010 school year.

Just as you are, we are very proud of all that Jeff has accomplished, not only in the classroom, but in the way he demonstrates leadership skills throughout the building as well as in his personal life. We feel it is important to recognize those individuals who step forward and make a point to go above and beyond what the average student does.

Our committee of staff members who make the selections, based on nominations from the faculty members, use criteria based on the Six Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship. We feel that students who meet all of these criteria are certainly deserving of special recognition.

Jeff’s picture, along with the other winners, will be on display in the Commons Area of the high school until the first quarter recipients are announced next fall.

Again, congratulations on the outstanding accomplishments of your son. As a parent I know how hard it is to raise kids and it can be difficult to keep them on the right path. You should take pride in what you have accomplished as a parent.

omg. I'm so proud of him. I'm beaming and dancing and crying, all at the same time. My kids make me so freaking happy. I don't deserve them, I really, really don't.

*spins you*
